Kinder Mass Trespass Anniversary Walk Sunday 28th April 2019

Hayfield Kinder Trespass Group will be celebrating the 87th anniversary of the 1932 Kinder Mass Trespass with a guided walk starting from Hayfield bus station/car park, at 10.30 am. Meet by the Trespass and Railway station information board, near the car park entrance.   The  main route is four and a half miles of walking, about half of it on moorland, at a moderate pace, climbing about 500 feet. Up the Snake Path, past Twenty Trees and on to the Shooting Cabin. From there views open up over Kinder reservoir and on to the Kinder plateau, looking down on the area where the trespass occurred, before returning on a lower path past the reservoir which leads to Kinder Road and a fairly flat return to the village.

A shorter alternative route will be offered if there is sufficient interest. This is two miles at a very leisurely pace, for those not fit or confident enough to walk on the moors. To Bowden Bridge car park, via Valley Road and the campsite, returning on Kinder Road.

  1. Excellent. I will aim to be there but it’s difficult to get there from Derby by public transport on a Sunday. Does your group host accommodation for visiting walkers I wonder?
