Once more held in Hayfield, the highlight on this occasion was the unveiling of a plaque commemorating the arrest and sentencing of the leaders of the trespass. This is now mounted at the junction of the Snake Path and Kinder Road, close to the PNFS 1897 plaque, both marking the two major victories in the long struggle for fair and just access to our land – and both of which happened here in Hayfield.
The Spirit of Kinder Group continued to organise annual events across the region – including in Edale and Manchester. In 2022, the torch was handed to Hayfield Kinder Trespass Group to keep the flame of inspiration of the 1932 Trespass alight and relevant to continuing campaigns. It was felt fitting that, beginning with the 90th anniversary, the annual celebrations should take place each year in the home of the Kinder Scout Mass Trespass – Hayfield.
