Hayfield Kinder Trespass Group Outdoors for All Festival of Music, Politics and Literature
Marking the 94th anniversary of the Hayfield Kinder Scout Mass Trespass (1932) and to raise awareness of current campaigns to extend responsible access to appropriate land and water, urban and rural.

7pm–8.30pm Tom Chesshyre Launch of his new book ‘Wild Peaks: A Journey on Foot Through England’s First National Park’ (Village Hall)
Talk and Q&A – meet the author
Tom Chesshyre is a British travel writer and journalist best known for his narrative travel books and articles, especially focusing on train journeys, budget travel and slow travel explorations around the world and within Britain.
In 1997 he joined the travel desk of The Times, where he worked for 21 years. Since then he has been a freelance travel writer, contributing to major publications such as The Times, The Guardian, The Daily Mail, The Mail on Sunday, The Financial Times, The New European, National Geographic Traveller, The Critic and Condé Nast Traveller. Tom Chesshyre is staff travel writer at The Times.

Stalls, talks, music and plays at Village Hall Green
All day: Exhibitions by Hayfield Junior School and Loughborough University School of Architecture (Church Hall)
1pm: Start of the event.
2.30pm-3.30pm: Roo Bear – Folk songs – ending with Manchester Rambler.
Tent people ‘Banner’ workshops, for children and adults.
5pm: Mummers Play.
6.30pm-8pm: Folk Singer Johnny Campbell.
8pm: Closure of Hall/Green. Move to The George for more music, food and drink.
Bar, food (Pie and Mash) and Marquees by the Tent People.
Sunday 26th April 2026
Timings TBA but approximately:
9am–10am: Gather at Village Hall Green for a rally.
Followed by a ramble along the 1932 Trespass Route to Kinder Reservoir. Opportunity for a Swim.
Return to Hayfield for music, food and drink at The George, with Lazlo Baby at 4pm
